Updating the App

Check for updates

Open SIMtrix Bridge on your phone. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right). Scroll down and tap "Check for Updates". The app will contact the SIMtrix server to see if a newer version is available.

We recommend checking for updates at least once a week to get the latest features and bug fixes.

Download and install the update

If an update is available, you will see the new version number and release notes describing what has changed. Tap "Download Update". The APK file will download. Once complete, tap "Install" to apply the update. Your settings and login will be preserved.

Restart the app

After the update installs, the app will restart automatically. Verify that the connection indicator is green and that your SIM and account selections are still correct.

After a major update, it is good practice to grant any newly required permissions if prompted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are updates automatic?
Updates are not fully automatic — you need to tap "Check for Updates" in Settings. However, the app will notify you when a new version is available if notifications are enabled.
Will I lose my settings after updating?
No. Updates preserve all your settings, login credentials, SIM selection, and preferences. You do not need to reconfigure anything after an update.
Can I skip an update?
Yes, updates are not mandatory. However, we strongly recommend keeping the app up to date as newer versions include compatibility improvements, bug fixes, and new features.
